Ana Ramos




School director, ballet teacher and dance science and psychology educator
Ana is passionate about bringing science into recreational dance settings, with a particular focus on turning research into practical tools and using psychology to support performance and wellbeing in the studio.
​
Ana trained recreationally in Mexico and danced professionally for a couple of years. She trained as a teacher and has taught internationally for over 20 years. Wanting to contribute to positive cultural change within ballet, she went on to study an MSc in Dance Science at Trinity Laban and an MSc in Applied Sport Psychology at St Mary's University. She also is certified in Science Communication by Northwestern University.
She now leads her own performing arts school in London (BWA Performing Arts), delivers workshops for dancers and teachers on applying psychological tools in practice, and continues to explore ways of bridging research, psychology, and everyday studio life.
Tina Peschel


Ballet & contemporary teacher, rehearsel director and master student in sport science
Tina has a strong interest in education and feels committed to challenging and redefining the traditional norms in the field of ballet. She has a vision of fostering healthy, creative dancers, capable of building sustainable careers in the constantly evolving world of dance.
Today Tina teaches modern/contemporary dance and ballet at Balettakademien in Stockholm and is simultaneously pursuing a master in sport science at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (Masterprogram Sustainable sports and health development - leadership, learning and movement culture).

After finishing her education at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam and the Rotterdamse Dansakademie in Rotterdam she has worked at several theaters in Germany before moving to Sweden where she danced with Skånes Dansteater in Malmö. In 2009 she transitioned to become rehearsal director for Norrdans, a contemporary repertoire company in the north of Sweden. After several years of combining rehearsing in professional contexts with teaching in different dance educations, Tina is since 2021 employed at Balettakademien in Stockholm where she works with the professional dancers education, the graduation performances as well as with the 1-year preparatory courses.
Joakim Stephenson



Choreographer, teacher and dance for health facilitator
Joakim is passionate about people and the human being in the dancer and how to express our authentic self in our dance. Also to empower the dance community through healthy leadership, fun and creativity.

Joakim is a choreographer and teacher based in Stockholm, and is a recurring teacher at Balettakademien since 2017, specializing in ballet, composition, and adult classes.
Joakim was trained at the Royal Swedish Ballet School (1983–1991) and joined the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1991, becoming a soloist in 2007 and danced with Ballet Monte Carlo (2008–2009)

He co-created the Gotland International Dance Seminar in 2005 and has staged Alexander Ekman’s ballets for companies including the Joffrey Ballet and Stanislavsky Ballet. Joakim has taught different ballet companies around the world.
Joakim’s choreography includes works for the Royal Swedish Opera, Kulturhuset in Stockholm, and various dance schools in Stockholm, Göteborg, Istanbul och Liège.

As a certified Dance for Parkinson’s leader, Joakim leads classes for Dance for Parkinson’s, Dance for Health, and Dance for Cancer. He has lectured on the theme "Dance as an intervention to improve quality of life for people living with dementia”, at the IDAMS conference in 2024. Joakim has also completed advanced academic courses in dance psychology and ballet education as well as in neuroscience, and dance health, latest Dance in Cancer Care Introductory Training in Liège November 2024.
